At least once in your lifetime you must have wanted magic to be real if you are fat. Our society has set up some rules for the women who are fat. They are fat shamed, they are not allowed to wear the clothes they like, they can’t wear active wears and they are not beautiful. You should be comfortable in your own skin and accept yourself the way you are.

Nowadays, there are even plus size models that look absolutely stunning and are breaking all the stereotypes. But it seems like no matter how hard you try, plus size models and women are still fat-shamed while trying to break into the world of fitness. Same was the case with this plus size model named Anna O’Brien who wore an active wear and people fat shamed her and made fun of her.
So a brand hired her to give a message that even these women are perfect and they’re getting involved in the fight themselves. Academy Sports and Outdoors has chosen Anna O’Brien the plus size Instagram fashion model as the new face of their ‘BCG’ line, which runs up to size 3X for women.
Anna has been struggling to maintain a fitness regime herself over the years and she blames some of her anxiety she faced on the lack of available active wear in her sizes.
On an Academic Instagram page, she wrote that “This single challenge is one of the greatest barriers to plus-size women becoming active”. She has managed to attract a lot of likes and attention through her sporty photo shoot but as usual, not everyone had something good to say about it.
Although this plus size model have been handling the trolls and negative comments but Academy issued a commendable response of their own when they noticed a particularly nasty comment under one of her pictures.
It’s an amazing step taken by the brand to make people understand that beauty lies within and to accept your body and stay fit. And people are now understanding and cheering her. Maybe now Academy may have a spike in business headed their way.
