Catherine Malatesta, according to her mother was an incredible and hardworking student. She was one of those pure souls who always believed in giving her best to everyone she had in her life. Also, she was really good with her academics and sports such as riding crew and playing field hockey.
It is believed that this is at the end of 2014 hockey season when she for the first time got to feel a shoulder pain.Though, she ignored it that time thinking that it might be due to some sports injury. But in December that year, a doctor found a tumour under her armpit as a result of which she was diagnosed with epithelioid sarcoma. But soon after that, they found her tumour already spread over to her lungs and spine. She always believed to keep that positive attitude through all of those processes of chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy.
Even after being hospitalized she tried her best to keep a good balance with her studies. Not only that, she also got a speech prepared and recorded for students council president and won elections too. It was an occasion of prom night when she wore that beautiful blue gown with great enthusiasm. And without any doubt, she was looking far more than just beautiful.
