Whenever we watch a romantic scene, we wish the same to happen in real life. Although in the back of our mind we know, it’s fiction. But there are actually some love movies which are based on true events, which actually happened.
1. The Vow.
Those who have seen this movie, know how impactful the story is. It is based on the real-life story of newlyweds, Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, played by Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams in the movie. Due to an accident, she got partial amnesia and forgot the last 18 months, the period when she fell in love and got married. The best part is how can never give up on her and make sure that she falls in love with him all over again.
2. Queen of the Desert.
Based on the true events, surrounding the love story of British writer and traveler Gertrude Bell, who had no interest in social life of aristocrats and Henry Gadogan, an Embassy employee played by James Franco.
3. Anna and the King.
This doesn’t have a total romantic angle like the other movies. What stood out in this film is the story of an independent woman who has the courage to defend her values. Anna was a teacher, traveller and a public figure.
4. Dangerous Beauty.
The romantic story of a beautiful Venice courtesan of the 16th century, Veronica Franco. Once heartbroken, she becomes a courtesan and thanks to her wit and beauty, she ended up making a lot of men fall in love with her.
5. The Theory of Everything.
Movies based on true events often succeed in winning our heart. The romantic story of the scientist Stephen Hawking and philology student Jane Wilde is so overwhelming. Even after Hawking lost control over his body due to a progressing disease, his love stood by him and helped him with researches.
6. The Invisible Woman.
The story is based on true events concerning Charles Dickens and a young woman, named Ellen Ternan. They had a huge age difference, he was 45 and she was 18 when they fell in love. The romantic affair lasted for 13 years till the writer died.
7. A Beautiful Mind.
This film is based on the true events of the life of Mathematician and Noble Prize winner John Nash. Unfortunately he suffered from schizophrenia, which made life very difficult. The angle which the movie shows is the unbreakable bond between him and his wife, Alicia Lardé.
8. Walk the Line.
Reese Witherspoon won an Academy Award for this. Do you need any other reason to watch this? The film is based on the story of famous country singer Johnny Cash and his second wife June Carter. The film showed all the domestic difficulties a family can go through and still remain together not possible without great love.
9. The Edge of Love.
These kind of movies leave a mark in our souls forever. It’s a beautiful love story about the famous poet Dylan Thomas, who met his first love, Vera Phillips and fell in love with her all over again, instead of being married.
10. Becoming Jane.
Based on the real story of a writer Jane Austen and Thomas Lefroy, it’s a sad but beautiful movie.
This young German couple, played by Daniel Brühl and Emma Watson, finds themselves trapped in a military coup in Chile. The film goes on to show how they got out from that massacre.
12. Eat, Pray, Love.
Movies like this bring back hope in life. It’s based on the autobiographical novel, having the same name, by Elizabeth Gilbert. Unhappy with her life, Julia Roberts in the movie goes a fascinating journey, where she ultimately finds not only happiness but also love of her life.
