Cancer has been running and taking lives of man since inception. Taking those patients and ruining those who love them. You might have understood what this is all about now properly. 17-year-old Mackenna Newman has had to watch her own mother go through thyroid cancer after she received a diagnosis last October. A photo that Mackenna posted to Twitter showing her family’s struggle and with her dad who sat outside her mother’s room to keep her company has Twitter crying and you should definitely see it for yourself.
When we take a look at the individual stories of those battling the disease, we get a better sense of how the disease can bring out the best of the human spirit. Let’s look at one below:
Mackenna’s mother was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments that oftentimes require being isolated from others.
Patients undergoing chemotherapy are often isolated to reduce the risk of getting an infection from someone in their personal space.
This must be done because cancer patients receiving radiation have weakened immune systems.
This photo of this man is her father waiting outside of her mother’s room during one of these radiation treatments has touched the heart of so much online.

And the caption Mackenna provided is equally touching.
This picture hit me at the core of my heart and thousands of people online are reacting to this struggle of two people going through the struggle of their lives.
People immediately came to Mackenna and her family’s support.
A man who sat outside the door of his wife when he isn’t allowed to see her is really heart warming.
Mackenna’s post resonated with those who themselves were experiencing a similar problem.
This was someone else with thyroid cancer, like Mackenna’s mother.
