Japanese cafe themes are always unique and they definitely grab people’s attention. We know that there are a majority of people in Japan who are obsessed with makeup and beauty treatments, however, there is a Japanese cafe which is popular for promoting natural beauty. They only hire women who don’t wear makeup and they have also shared the story behind its name. Keep reading to know more about it.
Here are the things you need to know about the Japanese cafe that only hires women who don’t wear makeup.
The cafe is called Naturalia and it started in 2015.
The cafe owners say that they got this idea when they were looking for cafes in Japan that have plain and ordinary looking staffs without any makeup.
Another branch of this cafe is going to launch soon in Tokyo.
The starting pay for the staffs at this cafe is $12 per hour.
The company’s website suggests that they don’t hire staff who smoke and have fancy nails.
They also don’t take girls who have experienced working in the nightclubs.
The cafe is trying to promote the natural beauty.
The cafe has become quite famous now and they are planning to open few more branches in other cities.
Girls are not only allowed to wear makeup but they are also not allowed to dye hair.
Two cafe staffs unveiled plans for the new cafes on YouTube recently and tried to seek public support.
The concept of natural beauty did gain a lot of positive attention but hasn’t been applied in other cafes in Japan.
So, what do you think of this concept and should this be followed in local cafes too?
In my opinion, this concept is kinda cool but also raises questions regarding freedom of choice and feminism. You can certainly hire people who like to be natural and embrace natural beauty but forcing people at the workplace to follow one particular trend is not something many people would like.
